As a financial company looking to enter into the world of social media marketing, we’ve got a few tips in store for you! It is important to be aware that social media is constantly evolving. Therefore, only logging into your business account once in a while is not going to be as beneficial for you or your business as it would be if you are active daily or even weekly. Since social media could be the first place a prospective client comes in contact with your business, you want to leave a lasting impression. Picture this as your digital first impression so you want all the details to be available for prospects to easily access as they would on your website or in store. With that being said we want to give you some tips and tricks on social media do’s and don’t when getting started.
This is a big one for many small business owners looking to grow their business. It is confusing for your prospects when you share your personal life and your business all in one place, so separate it out. This will help with your business branding and keeping your message clear and concise.
You want to give your customers content that is representative of your businesses brand. So consider what images you are sharing and the overall image you are portraying while creating your content.
You will not gain a valuable client unless you are showing up every single day or at least a few times a week. Consistency is key in everything you do when growing a business. Therefore, it is key to growing your social presence.
Your prospects and clients want to know what you can provide for them. So share what tips you have and what they will receive when receiving your services.
Social media is great for sharing content but it’s also great for being social! So make sure to interact with your followers, prospects and clients. This will encourage them to reciprocate and get to know you and your brand!
You do not want to spend all day on social media, comments, posting and resharing. This is the quickest way to get unfollowed because people do not want to be flooded with one person’s feed. So space out when you share content, comment and show up on your stories. And DO NOT copy and paste the same message and send it to multiple people. There’s nothing worse than a non personalized message.
Hashtags are a great way to get your content seen in your niche market, until you overuse the same ones over and over again no matter what your post is. Also not every word in your sentence needs a #hashtag.
People are following you to learn more about your business, not to see photos of your kids. This goes back to adding value. You want to be sure to only share content that is adding value to your customers.
Image following someone that has the same posts day in and day out. Would you keep following them or liking their content? No, of course not, social media is an evolving platform where new is always being created so there’s no reason to follow or pay attention to someone who is sharing the same old thing over and over.
If you use a social media scheduling platform then you need to take the time to change up your voice on each social platform. This helps to make sure what you are saying has its own voice depending on your network on each platform. For example, your LinkedIn network is not going to be the same as those following you on Instagram. So make sure to cater your language to each audience.
